Here's the first question I am asking. It has to do with Multiples...
1.
On an automobile assembly line, every third car is green. Every fourth car
is a convertible.
a)
How many cars out of the first 100 will be green convertibles?
b)
Which number of car is the first green convertible?
c) Show
how writing common multiples helped you solve this problem.
Don't forget to show your work in your answers... like 2*4=8 so there are 8 thingies in my answer...
ReplyDeleteA) There will be 8 green convertibles in the line of 100.
ReplyDeleteB) The 12th car is the first green convertible.
C) By finding the multiples of 3 and four 4 you can see where all the green cars will be and where all the convertibles will be. Sometimes the two car types will overlap meaning that the number corresponding to the car is a common multiple of 3 and 4. This happened 8 times throughout the course of all 100 cars.

ReplyDeleteThis is a link to a small math game that helps practice your multiples.
Cool Aya. Can you try to post new content as a separate post?
DeleteA) there will be 8 green convertibles in a car assembly line of 100 cars
ReplyDeleteB) the 12th car will be the first green convertible
C) if every third car was green and every fourth was a convertible, the first green convertible would be the 12th car because it is the lowest common multiple of 3 and 4, therefor, every green convertible would be 12 cars after the one before. now all you need to do is find out how many times 12 goes into 100. and it goes into 100 8 times
Nice work! Now we need some one to start another post with a new question since you two have answered this one so beautifully.
